Who they are: the interns of the Parliamentary Internship Program 2018?

The participants of the Internship Program in the Apparatus of the Verhovna Rada of Ukraine in 2018 became 60 persons, among which according to the forms of internship:

  • 33 persons are on full-time form;
  • 27 persons are on part-time form.

Subdivisions of internship for the participants of the Program:

  • Secretariats of committees and structural divisions of the Apparatus of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine – 50 persons;
  • Secretariat of the Representative on Human Rights – 6 persons;
  • European informational and research center – 2 persons;
  • Institute of legislation – 1 person;
  • USAID `RADA` Program – 1 person.

Women dominate among the participants – 65% (accordingly, 35% – men). They prevail as among participants of a full-time (60%) and as a part-time (70%).

Average age of the participants is 24 years old (25 – for women and 23 – for men).

Participants of the Program arrived from 21 regions of Ukraine, Kyiv city and the Crimea. Mostly participants are the representatives from the capital and Dnipropetrovsk region (6 persons from each), Zaporizka, Kharkivska, Rivenska and Poltavsk oblasts (4 persons from each).

For the beginning of the Internship Program the majority of the participants are living in Kyiv city (25 persons), the rest will move to the capital from Kharkivska oblast (5 persons), Kyivska, Lvivska, Odeska oblasts (4 persons from each), Dnipropetrovska, Rivnenska oblasts (3 persons from each), Zakarpatska, Zaporizhska, Mykolaivska, Chernivetska (2 persons from each), Vinnytska, Ivano-Frankivska, Poltavska oblasts (1 person from each). There are even the participants from Poland.

Among the participants of the Program there are students and graduates of higher education institutions such as: Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (9 persons), Yaroslav Mydryi National Law University (5 persons) and National University `Odesa Law Academia` (5 persons). Furthermore, some participants got education abroad – in Poland, in the UK, Belgium etc.
